Artful florals, a process that actually feels easy, and zero judgment about your chaotic Pinterest board

Hi, I’m Savannah — founder, lead designer, and the person who will absolutely cry happy tears when your ceremony arch comes together exactly the way we planned it.

If you’re here, you’re probably in the middle of wedding planning, somewhere between “this is so exciting” and “why is everything so overwhelming?” and you landed on this page because you want to know who’s actually going to be designing your flowers. Which, for the record, is the exact right instinct. Your florist isn’t just a vendor — she’s one of the people most responsible for how your wedding looks and feels. So let’s get properly introduced.

How Mountain Mama Florals Came to Be

The short version: flowers have been in my DNA since I was a kid spending summers on my grandmother’s farm in West Virginia, watching her turn a garden into something that made people stop and stare. She had this gift for color and texture and making things feel alive — and without knowing it, she passed that straight to me.

The longer version involves a career in luxury hospitality, a movie night that changed everything, and a moment where I looked at my sister and husband and said “I want to do that” — pointing at a florist on screen. They said “why don’t you?” and Mountain Mama Florals was born.

That hospitality background? It shows up in everything I do. Beautiful flowers are the baseline. A seamless, stress-free experience is the standard.

What Working With Me Actually Looks Like

Here’s what I want you to know about how I operate: I am not the florist who sends you a 47-line proposal and disappears until your wedding week. That’s not the vibe, and honestly, it’s not how great floral design works anyway.

Every wedding starts with a real conversation — a getting-to-know-you consultation where we talk about your vision, your venue, and your budget without any pressure or judgment. Chaotic Pinterest board? Perfect, that’s exactly where we come in. No flower knowledge required. If we’re a great fit, you lock in your date and then we get into the really fun part: your Planning Date call, where we build your entire floral order together. Every piece, every price, every decision — made collaboratively, in real time, so nothing is a surprise and everything feels completely intentional.

I design every single wedding personally. My team of skilled freelancers helps bring those designs to life on the day itself, handling setup, mid-event flips, and making sure every arrangement lands exactly where it’s supposed to. My husband is also almost always there at 12am loading the van, which I think speaks for itself.

What I Actually Believe About Wedding Flowers

Flowers should feel like you. Not like a trend you saw on Instagram, not like what the venue “usually does,” and definitely not like a cookie-cutter package somebody copy-pasted onto your wedding day.

I design artful, nature-inspired floral stories — the kind that make your guests walk in and immediately feel the atmosphere you worked so hard to create. Whether that’s a garden-gathered, loosely structured ceremony at a waterfront venue on the Chesapeake or an intentional, editorial reception in downtown Baltimore, the goal is always the same: personal, refined, and effortlessly beautiful.

I also believe in being genuinely honest with you throughout the process — about what’s in season, what’s worth your budget, and what we can do to get you the most stunning version of your vision at whatever number you’re working with. You’ll always know what’s going on, what to expect, and that everything is handled. No smoke and mirrors. No copy-and-paste florals. Just thoughtful design and a florist who’s genuinely in this with you.

Let’s Be Honest — You’re Going to Want to Work Together

If you’re planning a wedding in Washington DC, Annapolis, Baltimore, or anywhere along Coastal or Eastern Maryland and you want florals that are artful and intentional, a process that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out, and a florist who will care about your day as much as you do — hi, that’s me, and I’d love to meet you.

You don’t need a perfectly defined vision. You don’t need to know the difference between a ranunculus and a garden rose. You just need to show up. We’ll take it from here.
