We specialize in taking everything you love about flowers and turning it into something that actually looks and feels like your wedding. Just beautiful florals built around you.

Full Service Weddings

Built for the couple who wants it all to feel effortless.

Full service is for the couple who’s deeply invested in the look and feel of their day, and wants a florist just as invested. This is where we get to be hands-on with you from the very first idea all the way through your last dance.

Here’s the part that surprises people: you book your date before we build your order (and that’s on purpose). This isn’t a cookie-cutter menu you pick from. We start with an in-depth consultation talking about who you are, your venue, and your vision, and then we go over what other couples with a similar style typically invest, so you always have a monetary starting point. You’re never going in blind. You’re not buying a guess. You’re reserving your floral designer!

Our Contract & Booking Fee locks-in your date and goes towards your order total. Once you’re on our calendar, grab some bubbly: it’s time for your Planning Date Call! Just you, your florist, and every detail of your wedding florals, mapped out in one dedicated session. Every arrangement, every space, every price point, listed side by side so you can choose what works best for your day (not handed to you as a pre-built package that’s basically a guess at what your vision). You’ll see digital mockups of your actual flowers in your actual palette, and you’ll see examples of what each arrangement will look like, so you know exactly how your day is going to come together before a single stem is cut. This call is honestly one of our favorite parts of the whole process.

On the wedding day, our team arrives early and works in the background, leaving behind rooms full of flowers that make your guests stop and stare. While you’re enjoying your cocktail hour and soaking it all in, we’re quietly moving through your ceremony space and giving those florals a second life in your reception. Your arch becomes your sweetheart table. Your aisle arrangements become your centerpieces. Same flowers, two completely different rooms, and not a single thing for you or your family to carry.

On top of it all, we offer Teardown Services as an optional add-on, where we return at the end of the night to clean up and collect everything we brought. Any flowers that you don’t take home are able to be donated through our nonprofit partners like The Simple Sunflower, where they are rearranged and delivered to patients at local hospitals.

This is the experience for the couple who believes florals are part of the story, not just decoration. If that’s you, we’d love to chat!

Serving Annapolis, Washington DC, Baltimore, Coastal Maryland, and the surrounding region.

Our Full Service Weddings start at $5000.

À La Carte Weddings

Your vision, your budget, your way.

Florals for the pieces you care most about, without the full planning process wrapped around them. Smaller weddings, weekday and off-season dates, or any day where you want a few things done really well rather than the whole room designed.

You choose from our seasonal menu, curated for you around what is actually beautiful that time of year, plus one custom statement piece if you want something built just for you! We design and make everything, and your flowers are ready for pickup at the studio, in vessels that are yours to keep or ours to lend. If you would rather we bring everything to you, delivery, setup, and teardown are all available as add-ons.

The one thing à la carte does not include is the ceremony-to-reception flip. Your flowers are handed off beautifully finished, and where they go from there is yours to direct. If you want us on site during cocktail hour moving pieces from your ceremony into your reception, full service is a better path for you, and we will always tell you honestly which one is the better fit for your day.

Same hands, same garden-inspired style, same care that goes into every wedding we take. Just a shorter path to it.

À La Carte florals start at $1000.

Flowers for every occasion worth celebrating (and a few that don’t need a reason).

FAQ

How do I get started with Mountain Mama Florals?

Easy, you can submit and inquiry here or book a complimentary consultation directly through our website. We’ll spend about half an hour getting to know you, your venue, your vision, and your budget. Come with your Pinterest board, a few inspiration photos, or nothing at all. We’ll take it from there.

How far in advance should I book my wedding florist?

We recommend booking 9 to 12 months before your wedding date, especially if you’re planning a spring or fall wedding in DC, Maryland, or Annapolis, when our calendar fills up quickly. That said, if your date is sooner, reach out anyway. We’ll always let you know what’s possible.

Do you work with a minimum budget?

Our full service wedding florals start at $5,000. À La Carte packages begin at $500. If you’re unsure which fits your vision and budget, your consultation is the perfect place to figure it out together. No pressure, no commitment required.

Do you only do weddings?

Nope! We love a good party, too. Birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, corporate events, galas, and everything in between. We also offer ongoing floral subscription services for restaurants, hotels, and office spaces.

What happens during a consultation?

Your consultation is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation, about 30 minutes over video call or on the phone. We’ll talk through your venue, your vision, your must-haves, and your budget. We’ll look at inspiration together, ask the questions that help us understand what you’re really going for, and give you a clear sense of what working with us looks like. You’ll leave with a real direction, not just a vague sense of possibility.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Bring whatever you’ve got; a Pinterest board, saved Instagram posts, a screenshot of a dress, a photo of your venue, a color you love, or a vibe you can’t quite name yet. The more we can see, the better. Beyond inspiration, it helps to come with a rough sense of your budget, your approximate guest and wedding party counts, and the key spaces where you know you want flowers. You don’t need final numbers or a locked-in style, just enough to get the conversation going. If you want a full rundown of what to think through before we meet, we wrote a blog post just for this: What Info Should I Have Before Going to a Florist?

Do you work with couples and clients of all backgrounds?

Absolutely, and without reservation. Mountain Mama Florals is a welcoming, inclusive studio. We celebrate every kind of love, every kind of family, and every kind of gathering. If you’re planning something meaningful, we want to be part of it.

Where are you located, and where do you serve?

We’re based in Edgewater, Maryland, and serve couples and clients across Washington DC, Annapolis, Baltimore, and Coastal Maryland. We’re deeply familiar with venues throughout the DMV region and love working across all of it.

Can I visit your studio for my consultation?

Our studio isn’t a public-facing space, so we don’t host in-person visits. Because we order flowers fresh for each specific event, we don’t keep blooms on hand day to day, so there’s no showroom to browse the way a retail shop might have.

Instead, every consultation happens over a video call. You’ll get to know us, walk through your vision, and ask anything you would in person. If there’s something specific you were hoping to see, just ask. We’re always happy to share photos and past work so you feel confident every step of the way.

I’d like to move forward…what’s next?

We’re so excited to hear it. Once we’ve had your consultation and you’re ready to book, we’ll send over a proposal with a detailed outline of your floral design and investment. From there, a signed contract and booking fee locks in your date. After that, you can exhale. You’re officially on our calendar and in good hands.

How much do wedding flowers cost in Washington DC and Maryland?

For full service wedding florals in the DC, Maryland, and Annapolis area, most couples invest between $5,000 and $15,000 or more, depending on guest count, venue, design complexity, and the scope of what we’re creating. As a general benchmark, florals typically represent 8 to 12 percent of a total wedding budget. At your consultation, we’ll talk honestly about your priorities so we can build something that works for your vision and your numbers.

What affects the cost of my wedding flowers?

A few things drive the final number: the size of your guest list, how many spaces we’re designing for (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception), the types of flowers you love, seasonality, and the level of installation complexity. Large-scale hanging installations and custom ceremony arches take significantly more labor than a bouquet and centerpiece package. We’ll walk through all of it together.

Can I get beautiful wedding flowers on a smaller budget?

Yes, that’s exactly what our À La Carte packages are built for. You choose the pieces that matter most to you (a stunning bouquet, a few simple centerpieces, personal flowers for your wedding party) and we design them with the same care and artistry as our full service work. It’s not a lesser experience, it’s just scoped differently.

Do you offer payment plans?

We collect a booking fee to hold your date, with the remaining balance split up in the time remaining leading up to your wedding day. We’ll walk you through the full payment schedule when we send your proposal.

Do I need to know anything about flowers to work with you?

Not even a little. Chaotic Pinterest board energy is completely welcome. You bring the vibe, we’ll handle the rest. Our job is to translate your inspiration, however scattered, into a cohesive floral design that feels completely like you.

Will my flowers look exactly like my inspiration photos?

We use your inspiration as a roadmap, not a blueprint. Flower availability changes with the season, and part of what makes your florals special is that they’re built around what’s fresh and beautiful at the exact time of your wedding. We’ll always stay true to your palette, your style, and the feeling you’re after (sometimes the result is even better than the original).

What if I change my mind after we’ve locked in the design?

We build flexibility into our process on purpose. We have a Details Call a few months before your wedding where we finalize everything and confirm minimum counts, but small adjustments are still welcome after that. Life happens, guest lists shift, and we’d rather work with you than hold you to every last detail.

Can you work with flowers I’m allergic to or want to avoid?

Absolutely. Just tell us upfront and we’ll design around it. There are almost always beautiful alternatives.

Do you provide vases, vessels, and other rentals?

Yes, vessels, compotes, bud vases, and other design elements are part of what we bring to your event. We’ll discuss vessel styles and finishes during your Details Call so everything feels cohesive from the centerpieces to the smallest accent. If you have something specific in mind or already own pieces you’d like to incorporate, we love that conversation too and are usually able to make it work.

Do you do the setup on the day of the wedding?

Yes, that’s part of what makes full service worth it. Our team handles delivery, setup, and all on-site installation so you don’t have to coordinate a single thing on your wedding day. We arrive early, work quietly in the background, and leave behind rooms full of flowers.

Do you travel for weddings outside of your main service area?

Our primary service area includes Washington DC, Annapolis, Baltimore, and Coastal Maryland. We do occasionally travel beyond that for the right wedding; reach out and we’ll let you know if it’s a fit.

What happens to my flowers after the wedding?

Something we’re really proud of: through our partnership with organizations like The Simple Sunflower, we coordinate the donation of your arrangements (the ones you don’t keep) to hospitals, care facilities, and community organizations after your event. Your flowers get a second life, and someone else gets a beautiful surprise.

Do you work with wedding planners and coordinators?

Yes, and we love it. We’re used to collaborating with planning teams and are familiar with many of the top planners and venues in the DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore markets. If your planner wants to connect with us directly, send them our way.

What is your design style?

Artful, intentional, and personal, with a wildness that keeps things from feeling too precious. We love work that feels grounded in the natural world: textural, layered, and full of life. That said, we design across a wide range of aesthetics, from clean and modern to lush and garden-inspired. Our job is to make it feel like you, not like us.

What flowers are in season for my wedding date?

Seasonality is one of the best tools we have for keeping florals both beautiful and budget-friendly. Spring weddings are gorgeous with peonies, ranunculus, and sweet peas. Summer brings dahlias, garden roses, and lisianthus. Fall opens up a whole world of texture: chrysanthemums, scabiosa, and richly toned foliage. We’ll guide you toward what’s freshest and most stunning for your specific date.

Can you do a floral installation or flower wall?

Yes. Ceremony arches, floral chandeliers, hanging installations, flower walls, aisle treatments, these are some of our favorite things to build. They’re also some of the most labor-intensive, so we’ll make sure you have a realistic picture of what that investment looks like before we commit to anything.
